Zane Zilverberg was born in eastern Australia and raised on his family’s registered horse and cattle ranch in central South Dakota. During his later high school and college years, he worked as a veterinary technician, gaining valuable insight into livestock health and nutrition. He also developed knowledge of soil types, crop production, and agricultural systems through his work in the crop insurance industry.
In 2020, Zane graduated from Mitchell Technical College with an A.A.S. degree in Electrical Construction and Maintenance. The following year, he enrolled in business courses while competing in college rodeo and representing MTC at the 2021 National College Finals in Casper, Wyoming. He later transferred to Chadron State College to pursue a degree in Business Management with a focus in Marketing, continuing to compete in college rodeo and wrestling as a CSC Eagle.
Zane’s agricultural foundation is deeply influenced by his family. His grandfather, John Zilverberg, was a WWII veteran who dedicated his life to advancing American cattle genetics as the founder of Bar JZ Ranches. He was one of the 100 founding members of the North American Limousin Foundation in 1970 and was inducted into the American Polled Hereford Association Hall of Fame in 1994.
Zane’s father, Gary Zilverberg, has had a distinguished rodeo career spanning more than 40 years, competing across North America and Australia, including winning the 1979 Calgary Stampede All-Around Cowboy title.
Zane carries forward this rich legacy in livestock, rodeo, and agriculture into his career in real estate. He is licensed in South Dakota.
